In preparation for a planned update, the Swiss canton of Aargau commissioned us to conduct an independent review of its climate strategy. The scope of our work included analyzing various aspects of the strategy, such as significance, meaningfulness, and public relations, and checking its completeness in terms of topics and fields of action covered in comparison to other cantonal climate strategies.
Our recommendations have provided the canton a sound basis for revising the strategy for greater specification, and enable them to target their measures even more precisely to meet the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, and more effective climate adaptation.
