About the Position: 

To support TREDIS Software's growth, we are seeking a growth-oriented BD and Product Manager to expand our market engagement with current and prospective customers and ensure we provide our customers with the product and resources they need from us. You will be a key part of our software team, working with marketing, product development, sales engineering, and customer support colleagues. You will be part of driving revenue growth and new product direction.  

You will lead marketing for major product updates, events, and launches. Candidates with experience in strategic marketing plans are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates must demonstrate a willingness to proactively generate leads beyond what is in our CRM system and may attend up to three yearly conferences.  

Understanding our customers' use cases and having experience with multi-modal transportation planning is crucial for this position. You'll be supported by a team of experts and responsible for gathering customer feedback from TREDIS users.  

The following responsibilities will be expected from a successful candidate:  

Product Strategy and Market Research: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to define and improve market offerings. Monitor competitors, understand customer use cases and desires, recommend changes to project pricing, and explore new product possibilities.  

Account Management: Maintain proactive communication with both active and inactive accounts, provide competitive renewal quotes and secure agreements, collect customer testimonials and case studies, and monitor customer engagement through our robust in-house CRM and other advanced reporting tools.  

Product Updates and Development Cycle: This includes coordinating our annual data release (December – February) and prioritizing feature backlog. You will supervise R&D projects, manage client requests for features, implement infrastructure policies, handle data acquisition and integration, and communicate software releases.  

Customer Support:

  • Distribute incoming inquiries to the most suitable team members based on their expertise and availability
  • Coordinate and manage important discussions and interactions to ensure effective communication
  • Identify potential opportunities to introduce additional products, develop new features, or provide personalized customization to meet specific client needs
  • Facilitate connections among users to encourage the exchange of knowledge and best practices
  • Plan and conduct personalized training sessions for individual clients to address their unique requirements.
  • Arrange and host webinars aimed at providing training and education to a wider audience in the open market.
  • Oversee the smooth onboarding process for both users and clients to ensure a seamless introduction to our products and services

Starting mix of job duties will be developed through the interview and offer process to match candidate capabilities.

Experience Required: 

Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective business interactions with our clients and potential customers. You should have experience in marketing and sales including creating marketing materials and understanding client needs. You should also have experience following a systematic approach to sales and marketing and effectively using a CRM system. Preference will be given to candidates with subject matter familiarity in the following topics:

  • State Department of Transportation (DOT) and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) processes
  • Long-range transportation planning and visioning for alternative futures (e.g., demographic, technology, and trade trends)
  • Economic evaluation methods (including benefit-cost and economic impact analysis)
  • Project selection methods (e.g., multicriteria rating, cost effectiveness, scoring, and ranking)
  • Experience in topical areas related to economic development, economics, transportation

Location:

This position is located in our headquarters in Boston, just a few minutes’ walk from three T subway lines, Boston’s South Station (commuter rail and Amtrak), as well as the vibrant downtown, Chinatown, Seaport, and Public Garden areas.

Additional Information:

Job Type: 60-100%

Schedule: Monday through Friday, flexible schedule aligned with team and customer needs

Pay range: Pay commiserate with experience and offered role.  Ranges below for three potential roles:

  • Early career marketing/sales/product role: 60-80k plus profit/revenue sharing
  • Mid-career BD/Product management role: 80-110k plus profit/revenue sharing
  • Growth leadership role: 110-160k plus profit/revenue sharing
